This public  workshop presents and discusses the main findings of the project “Impact of Citizen Participation on Decision Making in a Knowledge Intensive Policy Field” (CIT-PART) which is funded by the European Commission within the Seventh Framework Programme under Socio-economic Sciences and  Humanities.

The workshop aims at stimulating a discussion about the particular challenges of citizen participation in the rise of new technologies. It addresses policy makers, NGO-representatives, researchers and practitioners in citizen participation and (participatory) technology assessment as well as in the area of bioethics and xenotransplantation research.
